Stone texture with Photoshop in under a minute

This one is even faster than creating a paper background with Adobe Photoshop. It's just about applying 3 filters in the right places and the right order. Simple as that! The beauty is that you can repeat the steps countless times and you will always get a new and different result each time. Let's see what and how we do it...   First, open a new document... mine is 400x400 px for the sake of space, but it works the same with any size. Set you foreground and background colors to their default values (press D). Go to Channels palette and create a new channel. It will be automaticly named Alpha 1. Select this channel and we will do few things here. Go to Filter - Render - Clouds. Now go to Filter - Render - Difference Clouds. Press Ctrl + F to repeat this step as many times until you get a lot of veins. Now that's all you do into this Channel. Hide it, go back to the RGB channel and your Layers palette. Pick a color for your texture and fill the background with it. Go to Filter - Render - Lighting Effects. In the new window that pops up, make sure the Light Type is set to Directional and Texture Channel chose from the list our Alpha 1 channel. The rest is up to you... play with the sliders, see what kind of cool effects you may get and hit OK when you're happy with it. Here's the final result... it's been one minute already? There you go... what Adobe Photoshop can do in less than one minute.
