Excellent tutorial. I was easily able to adapt this to work with a couple pieces of design work at my job. A quick variation on your original though, try replacing the Texture - Craquelure with Texture - Texturizer using the Rust Flakes texture. (It may not be a default texture for you, but if you go to load textures you should find it in your Photoshop folder.) You'll have to work on the settings per piece you are working on, and you may need to fix the textures edges as the rust flakes texture isn't fully seamless, but it's worth the extra work for the much more realistic end result.

Again, excellent tut, and thanks for sharing.

You will not get high quality print with covers or pages made in photoshop. Study more DTP/Print.
Photoshop is used only for images.

This tutorial could have been usefull for the picture on the cover, modified and exported in CMYK as a .tiff.

The rest of the page was a QuarkXpress/Corel/Adobe InDesign tutorial, with the .tiff imported.

When I was a newbie, I would have needed someone to say, "See those little triangles under the black and white mountains (the histogram) in the Levels window? Click on the black one and slide it to the right. :)
Details like their location in the screenie would have escaped me in the beginning.
I was a TOTAL NOOB!
Anyway, nice tip. I just recommended this page to a newbie looking for help on the irc channel I inhabit.
