Brush preset with Photoshop in under a minute
Thu, Jun 26, 2008
We all use Brushes, we look for new sets of brushes all over the net, but we can make our own Brush preset in under a minute. You don’t believe me? Check it out… and look at the time
Open a New document in Photoshop and make its background white. Grab the brush tool or pencil and draw several dots grouped together… some dots bigger than others… I usually use a 1 pixel brush or pencil (the following image is at 400% Zoom).

Select your creation and go to Edit menu – Define Brush Preset.

Give it a name.

Go to the Brush palette and the last one should be your new brush.

Use it.

How long its been? 1 minute? Less?

Hi,
Thanks for the information. Lie you I am not a professional at photoshop and I am trying to learn. Cn you answer a question for me please? How can I group specific brushes that I use most into one “set” so they all appear in the drop down menu? thanks for your time. I don’t know how you get anwers but if you could email that would be helpful

that is easy. go to menu in Edit – Preset Manager, then a new window will pop up. you will have a drop down menu with Brushes, Swatches, Gradients, Styles, etc. Select Brushes (which is selected by default anyway), select multiple brushes by holding down Ctrl and when you’re done click on the Save Set button. That’s it! Works the same for Patterns, Styles, etc.
